What would strengthen IbogaBase
LAST REVIEWED 2026-09-22 · HONEST GAPS · NOT A RANKING CLAIM
IbogaBase is a living educational reference. More pages alone do not make it stronger. This page lists concrete gaps that still limit confidence. It is not a claim that the site is best-in-field, complete, or peer-endorsed.
Named reviewers — still open (red)
Independent named review seats are not filled. No medical, cultural, or legal reviewer is listed as having accepted scope-limited review. Until that changes, pages should be read as source-compiled public reference, not expert endorsement. Outreach is paused pending owner decision — this page does not invite or contact reviewers.
- Medical / toxicology — mortality and adverse-event language bounds.
- Cardiology (QT/QTc-aware) — cardiac-risk framing without under- or over-statement.
- Addiction psychiatry / medicine — OUD/AUD evidence grades vs media cure language.
- Trauma / PTSD research — veteran-media claims vs observational study limits.
- Gabonese / Bwiti cultural steward–scholar — public-vs-private knowledge boundary (consent-first).
- Drug-policy / controlled-substances law — Schedule I vs state-bill accuracy; not legal advice.
- Librarian / information scientist — citation hygiene and catalog discipline.

Evidence and safety gaps
- Many condition pages remain observational- or media-heavy; randomized clinical evidence for ibogaine in humans is still limited.
- Mortality denominators and clinic-reported “success rates” need ongoing source discipline — numerators without denominators stay weak.
- DIY / self-treatment refusal is policy; the site will not add protocols, dosing, or referrals to close a “coverage” gap.
Catalog and link hygiene
- Listening Library: one outbound URL remains dead-flagged (Clare Wilkins / ibogaineconference.org). No invented replacement.
- Full sources catalog inline expansion vs dedicated citation-hygiene pages — prefer verified citations over volume.
- Trial registry rows should stay tied to working ClinicalTrials.gov NCT links and labeled status dates.
See Listening Library verify status, Trials, and Citation hygiene.
Culture and law gaps
- Culture desk coverage from outsider secondary sources cannot substitute for steward review of public-boundary language.
- State-bill trackers need periodic re-check against primary bill text; funding politics ≠ Schedule I repeal or FDA approval.
What this page is not
- Not a claim of best-in-field status or Jev ≥ 3.5.
- Not medical advice, legal advice, dosing guidance, or clinic referral.
- Not a reviewer call-for-proposals or outreach list for public contact.
